LP Volleyball wins DAC title outright

The LaPorte Volleyball team won the outright Duneland Athletic Conference title with a 25-20, 26-24, 25-14 victory at Lake Central on Tuesday night. "The girls have worked really hard all year and deserve the success they've had, punctuated by the DAC title," LaPorte head coach TR Harlan said. "I'm really proud of them. They've accomplished goal #1." Offensively, Ava Holtz led the Slicers with 13 kills, while Elizabeth Anglin and Emalee Maesch each added six kills. Madison Dhoore (5 kills), Kate Buckley (3 kills) and Bella Meier (1 kill) also contributed in the win. Meier also dished out a team-best 30 assists. Defensively, Izzy Freese had a 27 digs to lead the way. Maesch added 14 digs with Anglin and Holtz tallying nine digs each. Meier had eight digs in the victory. At the net, Buckley recorded five block kills and Anglin had three blocks. Dhoore and Meier also tallied two block kills. On the service line, Freese and Holtz each had two aces. The Slicers finish regular season play on Monday when the travel to New Prairie to take on the Cougars.
