Pitching Impressive In Weather Shortened Game As La Porte Slicers JV Beat Mishawaka Junior Varsity Cavemen

Both teams were strong on the mound on Thursday, but La Porte Slicers JV defeated Mishawaka Junior Varsity Cavemen 2-1. Ian Mitchell started the game for La Porte and recorded 15 outs. The Slicers got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Madix Splix singled down the right field line, and Nolan Darrell walked, each scoring one run. Mitchell earned the win for La Porte. The pitcher gave up three hits and one run over five innings, striking out five and walking none. Mitchell, Splix, and Jayden Proffitt each collected one hit for the Slicers. Splix went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. La Porte didn't commit a single error in the field. Wes Kaiser had the most chances in the field with five. La Porte Slicers JV will next be in action on Friday, May 8th, when they will head on the road to take on South Bend Adams. First pitch is scheduled for 5:00 pm at School Field.
