La Porte Slicers JV Can't Quite Erase 5-Run Deficit In Loss To Lake Central Junior Varsity Indians

La Porte Slicers JV's effort to come back from down five runs in the third inning came up just short, as they fell 10-8 to Lake Central Junior Varsity Indians on Tuesday. La Porte closed the gap by scoring on a solo home run, a ground out, a ground out, a solo home run, and a double. The Slicers made the score 8-5 in the bottom of the third inning when Wes Kaiser hit a solo home run to left field, and Kaysen Henriott grounded out, scoring one run. La Porte scored one run in the bottom of the sixth on a solo home run to left field by Jake Dickman. Quinn White pitched four innings in relief for the Slicers. The pitcher gave up four hits and two runs while, striking out four and walking three. Andrew Colon took the loss for La Porte. The righty went three innings, allowing eight runs (six earned) on six hits, striking out four and walking four. The Slicers piled up 10 hits in the game. Carl Crittendon led La Porte with two runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. The infielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Ryan Kavanaugh and White each collected two hits for the Slicers. La Porte will next be in action Wednesday, April 15th when they will again take on the Indians. The Slicers will be on the road with a first pitch scheduled for 4:30 pm.
