LaPorte Slicers JV Sweeps Double Header Against Logansport

Kaysen Henriott collected three hits in four at bats, as La Porte Slicers JV defeated Logansport 10-4 on Saturday in the first game of a double header. Henriott doubled in the seventh inning, singled in the second inning, and singled in the fourth inning. La Porte won thanks in part to eight runs in the seventh inning. Quinn White singled, scoring three runs, Jake Dickman singled, scoring one run, Ian Mitchell singled, scoring one run, Andrew Colon doubled, scoring one run, and Henriott doubled, scoring two runs. The Slicers got on the board in the top of the first inning after Wes Kaiser walked, and Mitchell doubled to center field, each scoring one run. Mitchell earned the win for La Porte. The hurler allowed five hits and one run (zero earned) over six innings, striking out five and walking one. White and Jack Lampa each appeared in relief for the Slicers. La Porte piled up nine hits in the game. Mitchell and Colon each collected multiple hits for the Slicers. White and Dickman each stole multiple bases for La Porte. The Slicers ran wild on the base paths, amassing five stolen bases for the game. La Porte turned one double play in the game. In the second game, La Porte won big over Logansport 11-4. In the top of the third, the Slicers broke up the tie when Andrew Colon singled, scoring one run. Then an error followed to extend the lead to 3-1. Nolan Darrell earned the win for La Porte. The pitcher gave up three hits and two runs (zero earned) over six innings, striking out five and walking one. Quinn White appeared in relief for the Slicers. La Porte piled up 12 hits in the game. Ian Mitchell, Ryan Kavanaugh, Jake Dickman, and Colon each collected two hits for the Slicers. Kaysen Henriott and Wes Kaiser each drove in two runs for La Porte. Kavanaugh stole two bases. The Slicers stole six bases in the game. The Slicers JV team will next be in action Tuesday, April 14th when they will take on the Lake Central Indians starting at 4:30 pm.
