The Slicers lost to the Chesterton Trojans 125-55 tonight. We would have liked to keep the score closer, but with three swimmers out due to injury, it was a tough night for LaPorte. We had a lot of positives, and the Slicers started the meet strong. They won the 200 Medley Relay with Hugo Luna-Zetina (backstroke), James Quadlin (breaststroke), Roman Garay (butterfly), and Carson Retseck (freestyle). With the injury of breaststroker Cameron Hatala, Hugo Luna-Zetina stepped in and swam the backstroke leg of the relay with a huge lifetime PR of 28.34. Luna-Zetina also had a big lifetime PR in the 200 Freestyle. Milo Jimenez had a lifetime PR in the 200 Individual Medley. Carson Retseck won the 50 Freestyle in a very exciting and close race. Roman Garay and Carson Retseck went 1-2 in the 100 Freestyle, with Retseck getting a season PR swim. Garay swam his second fastest 100 Free ever. Garay dominated the 100 Backstroke, to win in 55.90 seconds. In the 500 Freestyle, Vijay Pillai dropped 24 seconds to finish 4th and Noah Waak dropped 18 seconds to finish 6th. Solid swims by both boys. The Boys record falls to 9-5. They host Crown Point on Tuesday. Always proud. Go Slicers! Coach Brahim
