The Slicers came out strong and kept it up the whole meet to top the Elkhart Lions 108-61 today. LaPorte opened the meet with a 1-2 finish in the 200 Medley Relay with: Roman Garay (backstroke), Cameron Hatala (breaststroke), James Quadlin (butterfly), and Carson Retseck (freestyle). Teammates Hugo Luna-Zetina, Milo Jimenez, Vijay Pillai and Aedan Bailey came in second. Cameron Hatala and Vijay Pillai went 1-2 in the 200 Individual Medley. Hatala also won the 100 Breaststroke. Carson Retseck won both the 50 and 100 Freestyle events. Roman Garay won both the 100 Butterfly and 100 Backstroke handily. The fly is an off event for him, and he still crushed it. James Quadlin won the 500 Freestyle in 5:19.91. The 200 Freestyle Relay of Vijay Pillai, Hugo Luna-Zetina, Malachi Talbot and Noah Waak won with Waak coming from behind to secure the win. The Slicers finished the meet with a big win in the 400 Freestyle Relay with: Retseck, Garay, Quadlin and Hatala. Their record climbs to 8-3.
