Cougar Football Shuts Out Ionia in 28–0 Victory

The Lansing Catholic varsity football team delivered a complete performance Friday night, earning a 28–0 shutout win over Ionia. Quarterback Isaac Gallegos led the offense with 286 passing yards and three touchdowns, finding Leland VanAlstine for two scores (70 and 17 yards) and Kasey Ellis for another. On the ground, Kai Mishler added 102 rushing yards and a touchdown, powering a balanced Cougar attack that racked up 411 total yards. Defensively, Lansing Catholic was relentless. Noah Jungwirth led the charge with 14 tackles, an interception, and a fumble recovery, while Ryan Pritzlaff added 10 total tackles and two sacks. The Cougars’ defense forced multiple turnovers and held Ionia scoreless across all four quarters. With the win, Lansing Catholic showcased their growth and grit heading into the final stretch of the season.
