Cougar Volleyball Battles Tough Against Portland

The Lansing Catholic volleyball team put up a strong fight against Portland, ultimately falling in three sets (23-25, 15-25, 19-25). Despite the outcome, the Cougars had several standout performances across the court. Morgan Nichols led the attack with 9 kills and 2 digs, while Kate Partin added 7 kills, 3 digs, and 2 blocks. At the net, Katelyn Melling contributed 6 kills, keeping pressure on Portland’s defense. Setting was spread between Leighton Marlan, who tallied 14 assists and 3 digs, and Kendall Young, who recorded 9 assists and 7 digs. Defensively, Sara Tolfree anchored the back row with 12 digs and 2 aces. The Cougars showed resilience and teamwork, continuing to build momentum as they move further into the season.
