Cougars Capture Averill Invite Title

The Lansing Catholic girls cross country team delivered a commanding performance at the Averill Invite on Saturday, taking first place with a team score of 48. The Cougars finished well ahead of runner-up Rochester Adams (98) and third-place Grand Ledge (108). Grace Wonch led the way with a strong 3rd-place finish in 19:28.61. Josie Bishop and Anna Drauer both placed in the top 10, finishing 7th (20:21.36) and 9th (20:27.31), respectively. Lindsey Ludwig crossed in 13th at 21:01.55, with Frances Melinn close behind in 16th at 21:14.84. Avery Miller rounded out the varsity scoring, placing 22nd in 22:06.99. With six Cougars inside the top 25, Lansing Catholic’s depth and consistency proved to be the difference in securing the title.
