Cougars Rally Past Eaton Rapids for First Win

Lansing Catholic football picked up its first win of the season Friday night, defeating Eaton Rapids 26-21 in a back-and-forth conference matchup. The Cougars jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter before Eaton Rapids answered with two second-quarter touchdowns to tie the game at halftime. After Eaton Rapids took a 21-14 lead in the third quarter, Lansing Catholic responded with two touchdowns to take control of the game. Freshman Emmett Eyde led the Cougar offense, completing 10 of 19 passes for 166 yards and two touchdowns while adding a rushing touchdown. Watson Ferreri was his top target, finishing with seven receptions for 125 yards. Kai Mishler led the ground game with 110 rushing yards on 15 carries. The Cougar defense was led by Elijah Jungwirth, who recorded eight tackles, a sack, and a tackle for loss. Chuku Okeke added three tackles, a sack, a tackle for loss, and a fumble recovery.
