Despite a valiant effort, the Lansing Catholic softball team saw its outstanding season come to an end with a 2-0 loss in the regional semifinals. The Cougars collected six hits in the contest, with Avery Dunneback and Katy Howard each recording two hits. Sydney Hanes and Soryn Ellis added one hit apiece. In the circle, Zoey Gruber delivered another stellar performance, pitching a complete game. Over seven innings, she allowed just three hits and two runs while striking out 12 batters and issuing only one walk. The loss concludes another memorable season for Lansing Catholic. The Cougars finished as CAAC White Co-Champions, captured their fourth consecutive league title, and repeated as Greater Lansing Hall of Fame Softball Classic Champions with a thrilling championship victory over Grand Ledge. The accomplishments of this team, along with its leadership and competitive spirit, have left a lasting mark on the program and provide plenty for Cougar Nation to celebrate. 📸: TCP Photography
