Lansing Catholic Girls Tennis Caps Historic Season with Top-10 State Finish

The Lansing Catholic girls tennis team added another chapter to an already remarkable season by earning a 9th-place finish at the MHSAA Division 3 State Finals, placing the Cougars among the top programs in Michigan. The top-10 finish capped a year filled with accomplishments, including: 🏆 CAAC White Champions (Back-to-Back Seasons) 🏆 Regional Champions (Three Consecutive Years) 🎾 9th Place at the Division 3 State Finals Reaching the top 10 in the state is a significant achievement, especially in a highly competitive Division 3 field. The Cougars accomplished it through strong performances across multiple flights and a deep, balanced lineup. State Semifinalists Lead the Way The Cougars had two doubles teams advance to the state semifinals. At No. 3 Doubles, seniors Jayda Stowell and Vivian Schulick put together an outstanding tournament run before finishing among the state's final four teams in their flight. At No. 4 Doubles, Anna Robinson and Kendall Young also advanced to the semifinals, giving Lansing Catholic two flights represented among the top four teams in the state. Additional Deep Tournament Runs Lansing Catholic's success extended throughout the lineup. At No. 1 Doubles, Haven Topham and Lily Rule advanced to the quarterfinals and earned valuable points for the team standings. At No. 3 Singles, Addison Murphy also reached the quarterfinals, continuing her strong postseason performance. Meanwhile, Leila Eyde advanced to the second round at No. 4 Singles, contributing to the team's overall success at the state tournament. A Championship Season The 2026 season will be remembered as one of the finest in program history. The Cougars successfully defended their conference championship, captured a third consecutive regional title, and finished among the top 10 teams in Michigan. The team's combination of veteran leadership, competitive depth, and postseason success helped establish Lansing Catholic as one of the premier programs in Division 3. From conference play through the state finals, the Cougars consistently rose to every challenge. Their ninth-place finish serves as a fitting reward for a team that spent the entire season competing at an elite level.
