The Lansing Catholic baseball team saw its season come to an end Saturday in a tightly contested District Semifinal, falling to the Springport Spartans 4–3. Despite the loss, the Cougars once again showed the competitiveness and fight that characterized their season, keeping the game close throughout and battling until the final out. Several players turned in strong performances at the plate. Elijah Jungwirth led the offense, going 2-for-3 with an RBI and a walk, while Noah Jungwirth also collected two hits, including a double. Anthony Branoff contributed with a hit, a run scored, and a walk, while Connor Weber added a hit of his own. Although the season ended one game short of a district championship opportunity, Lansing Catholic's accomplishments throughout the year will not be forgotten. The Cougars consistently competed among the area's top programs and demonstrated the teamwork, perseverance, and commitment that have become hallmarks of the program. 📸: Studio M Sports
