Lansing Catholic senior Avery Dunneback has been nominated for the Lansing State Journal Athlete of the Week after another outstanding performance on the diamond. The Grand Valley State University signee played a major role in helping the Cougars capture the Greater Lansing Hall of Fame Softball Classic championship for the second consecutive season. During Lansing Catholic’s three wins, Dunneback went 5-for-10 at the plate with three doubles, one home run, and five RBIs. She also drew four walks and scored six runs during the tournament run. In the process, Dunneback surpassed an impressive milestone of 200 career hits, adding another accomplishment to an already stellar high school career.
