Cougars Shine in Tri-Meet Against Charlotte and Eaton Rapids

Lansing Catholic Track & Field competed in a tri-meet against Charlotte and Eaton Rapids, with both the boys and girls teams turning in another strong overall performance filled with event victories and standout efforts. For the boys team, Lucas Gates earned first-place finishes in both the 800m and 1600m races, continuing his strong distance season. Leland VanAlstine swept the hurdles events, winning both the 110m hurdles and 300m hurdles. Hayden Selesky added a victory in the 3200m run. The Cougars also captured first place in the 4x400m relay behind the team of Blaise Demko, Lucas Dillon, Teo Krumm, and Lucas Gates. The girls team showcased depth across the track and field events. Avery Miller won both the 100m dash and long jump, while Adaure Obinwanne claimed first in the 200m. Josie Bishop had a standout meet with victories in the 400m and 800m races. Anna Drauer finished first in the 1600m, and Addison Wegener took the top spot in the 3200m. Jada Farmer earned a win in shot put, while Isabelle Currie won the 100m hurdles. Lansing Catholic also earned relay victories in the 4x200m and 4x800m events. The 4x200m relay team of Stella Gates, Frances Melinn, Adaure Obinwanne, and Josie Bishop finished in first place, while Josie Bishop, Grace Wonch, Elsa Korte, and Addison Wegener captured the 4x800m relay title. 📸: TCP Photography
