Cougar Softball Sweeps East Lansing

Lansing Catholic closed the regular season in dominant fashion Thursday, sweeping a doubleheader against East Lansing 15–0 and 19–5 while securing a share of the CAAC White championship. The Cougars showed their depth on both sides of the game, combining strong pitching with an explosive offensive performance that produced 34 runs on 25 hits across the two games. Game 1: Lansing Catholic 15, East Lansing 0 (3 innings) Lansing Catholic wasted no time taking control in the opener. The Cougars scored three runs in the first inning, then broke the game open with seven runs in the second before adding five more in the third to end the game early. Zoey Gruber dominated in the circle, throwing three shutout innings while allowing just one hit and striking out six. Offensively, several Cougars contributed to the early surge. Avery Dunneback led the charge with two hits, including a home run, and two RBI. Alyssa Garcia drove in three runs. Katy Howard added two hits and two RBI. Game 2: Lansing Catholic 19, East Lansing 5 (6 innings) The Cougars continued their offensive momentum in game two, scoring 11 runs in the first two innings to seize early control. Avery Dunneback had a remarkable performance at the plate, finishing with five hits, six runs scored, and three RBI, while hitting for extra bases with a double, triple, and home run. Brooklyn Gorski delivered one of the biggest swings of the day, going 3-for-5 with six RBI and three runs scored. Zoey Gruber also had a strong offensive showing, driving in two runs while scoring five times.
