The Lansing Catholic varsity baseball team put together a dominant day on May 12, sweeping Eaton Rapids in convincing fashion with 15-0 and 13-0 victories. The Cougars controlled both games from the start, combining explosive offense with strong pitching to record two shutouts and move their season record to 17-2. Offensively, Lansing Catholic produced several standout performances. Ethan Link led the charge with an incredible day at the plate, going 6-for-7 with four doubles, four RBIs, and six runs scored, while also swiping two bases. His consistent extra-base power helped ignite the Cougar offense throughout the doubleheader. Anthony Branoff also delivered a big performance, finishing 5-for-7 with six RBIs and three runs scored, while adding two stolen bases. Watson Ferreri was perfect at the plate, going 4-for-4 with four RBIs and three runs scored, along with two stolen bases to keep pressure on the Eaton Rapids defense. Jason Boldman contributed with three hits in six at-bats, including a triple, while driving in two runs and scoring twice. Noah Jungwirth reached base every time he stepped to the plate, going 3-for-3 with two RBIs, three runs scored, and two walks, continuing his strong season at the plate. Isaac Gallegos added two hits, including a double, while driving in two runs, scoring twice, and stealing a base. The Cougars’ balanced offensive attack and strong pitching performances secured two mercy-rule victories and continued Lansing Catholic’s impressive season momentum.
