The Lansing Catholic varsity softball team earned an impressive doubleheader sweep over Williamston, winning 3–0 in Game 1 and 20–10 in a five-inning mercy rule victory in Game 2. The Cougars showcased both strong pitching and explosive offense across the two games, combining timely hitting with dominant performances from several key players. Game 1: Pitching and Timely Hitting Lead to 3–0 Win Lansing Catholic opened the doubleheader with a solid 3–0 shutout victory, using strong defense and clutch hits to control the game from start to finish. Zoey Gruber delivered a standout performance, pitching 7 innings with 12 strikeouts while also contributing offensively with 4 hits and 2 RBI. Game 2: Offensive Explosion in Mercy Rule Win The Cougars’ offense came alive in the second game, scoring 20 runs to secure a five-inning mercy rule victory. Several players delivered big performances at the plate: Taylor Dunneback had an incredible day, collecting 7 hits, 4 RBI, 4 runs, and 2 home runs. Avery Dunneback added 4 hits, 4 RBI, 4 runs, including three extra-base hits (double and two home runs). Alyssa LaConte contributed 6 hits, 4 runs, and 3 RBI. Zoey Gruber continued her strong all-around performance with 4 hits and 2 RBI.
