The varsity softball team from Lansing Catholic High School earned a strong doubleheader sweep against Portland High School, winning 13–6 in game one and 13–1 in game two. The Cougars’ offense powered the wins with multiple standout performances across the lineup. Taylor Dunneback had a dominant day at the plate, recording five hits, seven RBI, five runs scored, and a home run. Avery Dunneback also had a big day offensively with six hits, seven runs scored, two RBI, and a home run. Katy Howard contributed both in the circle and at the plate. She pitched five innings allowing just one run, while also adding two doubles and five RBI offensively. Additional offensive production came from Austynn Arellano, who recorded three hits, three runs, and three RBI, and Leah LaConte, who added five hits and two RBI.
