Cougar Track Athletes Post Elite Division 3 Times at Conference Meet

Athletes from Lansing Catholic High School delivered one of their strongest performances of the season at what many considered the top Division 3 track and field meet of the year. Cougar athletes posted multiple top-10 times in Michigan D3, including several state-leading marks. Girls Post Multiple Top Times in Division 3 The Lansing Catholic girls squad had several standout performances that vaulted them near the top of the statewide rankings. Josie Bishop recorded two of the best marks in the state this season, posting the #1 time in the 400 meters and the #2 time in the 800 meters among Division 3 athletes. Grace Wonch also had a remarkable night, running the #1 1600 meter time in Division 3 while also posting the #3 800 meter time. Distance runner Anna Drauer continued her strong season with the #6 1600 meter time in Division 3. The Cougars also excelled in the relays. The 4x400 relay currently holds the fastest time in Division 3, while the 4x200 relay now ranks #2 in the division. In the hurdles, Izzy Currie recorded the #10 300 meter hurdles time in Division 3, adding another top performance to the Cougar results. Boys Continue Strong Season The boys team also posted elite performances during the meet. Lucas Gates ran the #2 1600 meter time in Division 3 and added the #8 800 meter time, placing him among the top distance runners in the state this season. Meanwhile, Leland VanAlstine dominated the hurdles events, winning both races and recording the #1 Division 3 time in Michigan in both hurdle events. Momentum Building for the Cougars With numerous top-ranked performances across both the boys and girls teams, Lansing Catholic continues to establish itself as one of the strongest Division 3 track and field programs in Michigan this season. 📸: TCP Photography
