The Lansing Catholic varsity softball team remained undefeated with a doubleheader sweep over DeWitt High School, winning Game 1 by a score of 11–9 and Game 2 by a score of 5–4. The victories improve the Cougars to 6–0 overall and 2–0 in CAAC White play. Game 1: Lansing Catholic 11, DeWitt 9 The Cougars built enough offensive momentum to hold off DeWitt in a high-scoring opener. Taylor Dunneback led the offense with a 3-for-5 performance that included three RBIs and two runs scored. Avery Dunneback added two doubles while driving in three runs and scoring twice. Alyssa Laconte finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Zoey Gruber contributed at the plate with two doubles, an RBI, and two runs scored. She also earned the win in the circle, pitching seven innings to move to 3–0 on the season. Game 2: Lansing Catholic 5, DeWitt 4 Game 2 proved to be another close contest, but the Cougars once again found a way to secure the victory. Taylor Dunneback delivered another strong performance, going 2-for-2 with a single, double, two RBIs, two runs scored, a walk, and a stolen base. Zoey Gruber earned the win in relief, pitching 2⅓ innings while allowing no hits and striking out four. Doubleheader Standouts Across both games, several Cougars produced strong offensive numbers.
