Valkyries Defeat Grand Rapids Christian High School in Double Overtime Thriller

The Valkyries varsity girls lacrosse team earned a dramatic 12–11 double-overtime victory over Grand Rapids Christian High School in a thrilling matchup. Viv Hagen led the Valkyries’ offensive effort with an outstanding performance, recording five goals and two assists. Cara McDonald and Payton Veith each added two goals to help power the attack. Additional scoring came from Sophie Johnson, Mia Armstrong, and Marin Kaiser, who each contributed a goal. Johnson, Armstrong, and Kaiser also added assists, while Laila Martin recorded an assist as well. Defensively, goalkeeper Katelyn Melling played a key role in securing the win, finishing the game with eight saves to keep the Valkyries in the contest during the tightly contested matchup. The Valkyries ultimately broke through in double overtime to secure the hard-fought victory.
