Cougar Baseball Sweeps Olivet in Doubleheader

The Lansing Catholic varsity baseball team secured a doubleheader sweep over Olivet, winning Game 1 by a score of 8–1 and taking Game 2 in dramatic fashion, 4–3. Game 1: Lansing Catholic 8, Olivet 1 Elijah Jungwirth led the way for Lansing Catholic with a dominant performance on the mound. Jungwirth pitched six innings, striking out seven batters while allowing just one hit. The outing earned him the win and improved his record to 2–0 on the season. Jungwirth also contributed at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBIs and drawing three walks. Game 2: Lansing Catholic 4, Olivet 3 Game 2 provided late-game excitement as Jason Boldman delivered a walk-off hit to secure the Cougars’ second win of the day. Boldman also played a key role on the mound, pitching five innings while striking out seven batters to earn the win. He finished the day 3-for-5 at the plate with a run scored and a walk. Offensive Standouts Several Cougars contributed strong offensive performances across the doubleheader. Ethan Link went 3-for-6 at the plate, scoring four runs and driving in one while also swiping six stolen bases. Anthony Branoff finished 2-for-5 with two runs scored, two RBIs, a walk, and a stolen base.
