Cougars Sweep Olivet in Dominant Doubleheader Performance

The Lansing Catholic varsity softball team delivered a statement doubleheader sweep, defeating Olivet 12–0 in Game 1 and 18–4 in Game 2. The Cougars combined strong pitching, explosive hitting, and consistent defensive execution across both games to improve to 4–0 overall and 2–0 in CAAC White play. Game 1: Lansing Catholic 12, Olivet 0 (5 innings) Zoey Gruber powered the Cougars in the circle, tossing five shutout innings while allowing just one hit and striking out 10. She also contributed offensively, finishing 1-for-2 with two RBIs, two runs scored, and two stolen bases. Avery Dunneback added a strong offensive performance, going 2-for-2 with two singles, two runs scored, and a stolen base. Game 2: Lansing Catholic 18, Olivet 4 (5 innings) The Cougar offense erupted in Game 2, led by multiple standout performances. Austynn Arellano went 3-for-4, highlighted by a grand slam home run, finishing with six RBIs and four runs scored. Zoey Gruber continued her big day at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a home run, four RBIs, and two runs scored. Avery Dunneback added another 3-for-5 performance with a home run, three RBIs, and three runs scored. Taylor Dunneback contributed a 3-for-4 outing with two singles, a double, an RBI, and two runs scored, while Alyssa Laconte added two hits and two RBIs. In the circle, Katy Howard earned the win, pitching five innings and striking out four.
