Cougar Girls Win Lansing Catholic Early Invite; Boys Take Second

The Lansing Catholic track and field teams opened the Lansing Catholic Early Invite with impressive performances on both the girls and boys sides. The Cougar girls continued their strong start to the season, securing their second team victory in as many meets. The boys team also delivered a strong performance, finishing second overall. Several Lansing Catholic athletes earned event victories throughout the meet. Leland VanAlstine led the way with two wins, capturing both the 110-meter hurdles and the 300-meter hurdles. Lucas Gates also earned two victories, winning the 800-meter run and the 1600-meter run. Josie Bishop contributed two wins of her own in the 400-meter run and the 800-meter run to help power the girls team to the top of the standings. Additional Cougar event winners included Grace Wonch in the 1600-meter run, Stella Gates in the 200-meter dash, France’s Melinn in the 300-meter hurdles, and Avery Miller in the long jump. 📸: TCP Photography
