Lansing Catholic alum Anderson Young (Class of 2023) is continuing his hockey career at Grand Valley State University, competing on the Lakers’ ACHA Division III hockey team as a defenseman. Over the past two seasons, Young has appeared in 29 games, recording 16 career points from the blue line while contributing as a key part of the Lakers’ defensive unit. Young delivered a memorable moment on the national stage this season. On March 18, 2026, during the ACHA National Tournament in St. Louis, he scored the game-winning overtime goal in Game 1, helping propel Grand Valley State forward in the tournament. The Lakers continued their strong run and advanced to the Frosty Four of the American Collegiate Hockey Association Division III National Tournament, marking an impressive postseason performance for the program.
