The Lansing Catholic baseball team opened the season with a strong showing against Holt, earning a 6–5 victory in Game 1 before darkness halted the second game in the bottom of the third inning with Lansing Catholic trailing 4–3. With the split incomplete, the Cougars officially begin the season 1–0. Several Cougars delivered standout performances across the two games. Elijah Jungwirth played a key role in the opening win, earning the victory on the mound with five strikeouts. He also contributed at the plate, going 3-for-5 with a double, while adding two RBIs and a stolen base. Ethan Link sparked the offense with a strong all-around performance.
