Cougars Showcase Effort and Growth in Three-Level Matchup Against Lakewood

Lansing Catholic boys basketball took the court against Lakewood. The freshman squad came up just short in a tightly contested matchup, falling 45–43. Joe Tennes led the way with 18 points, while Benny Arellano added 14 and Bishop Villarreal chipped in eight. At the junior varsity level, Lansing Catholic earned a hard-fought 41–34 win. Isaac Gallegos powered the offense with 13, Chuku Okeke Jr, followed closely with 12 points and Jake Wahl contributed seven. The JV Cougars’ ability to share scoring and finish games has been a consistent strength early in the season. The varsity team battled in a physical contest but fell 64–53. Senior Seth Hahnenberg delivered a standout performance, pouring in 30 points while grabbing eight rebounds and recording two blocks. Joe Gulock added seven points and five rebounds, and Gary Tackett filled the stat sheet with six points, four rebounds, and two steals. While the scoreboard reflected mixed results, the night as a whole underscored the heart, resilience, and competitive spirit within the Lansing Catholic basketball program.
