Former Lansing Catholic basketball standout Leah Richards, a key member of the 2023 State Championship team, continues to excel at the collegiate level. Now a sophomore forward/center for Hope College, Richards was named the MIAA Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week after leading the nationally ranked Flying Dutch to two victories in Wisconsin. Over the two games, Richards averaged 16.5 points and 10.0 rebounds, shooting an impressive 65% (13-for-20) from the field and 100% (6-for-6) at the free-throw line. Her defensive presence and leadership helped power Hope to wins over Wisconsin-La Crosse and Wisconsin-River Falls.
