Volleyball Falls at State Finals/Softball Falls in Sectional Championship/Baseball Advances to the Sectional Finals

Varsity Baseball Sectional Semi-Finals vs Hammond Morton LC 20 Hammond Morton 0 The Indians left no doubt in this one scoring 6 in the first and 8 in the second to cruise to the 18 hit, 20 run victory. Zach Nicola, Ethan Chapman, and Trevor Kubacki combined for the 3-hit effort on the mound. Six Indians had multi hit efforts, led by 3 hits from both Victor Villegas and Keegan O'Bryan. Austin Brower, Dylan Hein, Parker Robinson, and Jacob Zimmerman each had 2 hits. The victory sets up a Lake Central vs Crown Point Sectional Final today at 6 pm. Varsity Volleyball vs Indianapolis Cathedral--IHSAA State Finals Semi-Finals The boys' volleyball team was looking to make its way to the State Championship match on Saturday. The Indians faced off against volleyball powerhouse Cathedral in the semi-finals at Mackey Arena in West Lafayette. Cathedral swept the Indians in straight sets: 25-11, 25-10, 25-13. The Indians finished their season 29-7 overall: They can lay claim to an undefeated DAC season, a Sectional Championship, and a Regional Championship. Nine players were selected IHSAA Academic All-State for LC. Juan Flores, Christian Czarnik, Brady Cook, and Danny Smith were named IHSAA West All-Region. DAC accolades will be named later this week. Varsity Softball @ Crown Point LC 2 CP 4 Maddie Such pitched well enough to win striking out 7 Bulldogs over 6 innings, but the Indians managed just 2 hits as a team and fell to Crown Point by a score of 4-2 in the Sectional Finals. Taylor Schafer gave the Indians a lead with a 2-run blast in the 4th. Kate Renschen added a hit and a run. LC finished a great season where they won 27 games and won a DAC Championship. The Indians came up just short of winning their 5th consecutive sectional.
