Volleyball Defeats Merrillville

V/JV Volleyball LC's volleyball team dominated on the road with a sweep over Merrillville to extend their record to 6-0. JV won 2-0. The Indians have now one 6 in a row and remain unbeaten in the conference. Set 1: 25-14 Set 2: 25-20 Set 3: 25-13 The Indians will be traveling across the border to compete in the Marian Catholic Invitational this weekend. JV (Blue) Baseball The Lake Central Indians JV Blue baseball team took down the visiting Hanover Central Wildcats 8-4 on a chilly Thursday evening. Sophomores Ryan Mikolanis and JT Rozanski combined to allow only 1 ER and struck out 5 Wildcat hitters. Offensively, Jacob Forystek, Brayden Walls, and Brody Yates all had two hits each, and Ryan Mikolanis provided a two-out, two-run double to give the Indians the lead early. JV (White) Baseball LC squandered a 6 run lead after four innings of play and fell to the host Valparaiso Vikings by a score of 7-6 in extra innings. Benjamin Schultz led the way offensively with 3 hits and 2 RBIs. Malachi Weinum had a 2-hit effort and drove in 2 as well. Mateo Kluga had 2 RBIs. JV white will host the Penn Kingsmen tomorrow.
