Lake Central hosted Laporte in a Duneland Athletic Conference gymnastics meet on Wednesday night. Ten gymnasts invited their most influential teachers to walk out with them. LC competed in the vault in their first event: They were led by Janna Kendall's 9.1. Score after 1 rotation: LC (vault): 26.85 LaPorte (bars): 19.1 In the second rotation, LC competed in the uneven bars: Kailynn Paat won the uneven bars with an 8.175. Score after 2 rotations: LC (bars): 51 LaPorte (vault): 44.1 LC performed on the balance beam on the 3rd rotation: Kailynn Paat's beam routine was good for 2nd overall with a 9.25. Scores after 3 rotations: LC (beam): 77.5 LaPorte (floor): 66.225 For the final rotation of the evening, LC competed on the floor exercise: Gabrielle Robbins ran away with the victory in the floor exercise scoring an impressive 9.4. Final Team Scores after 4 Rotations: LC (floor): 104.3 LaPorte (beam): 88.9 Both teams will compete in the DAC Championships at noon on Saturday at Crown Point HS.
