Lake Central High School

Varsity Softball: Lake Central hosted Merrillville in the quarter finals of the IHSAA Softball Sectional and was victorious 16-1 in a run-rule shortened game. Olivia Hurubean earned the start and struck out 15 hitters in her 5-innings of work. Merrillville managed just two hits as Hurubean threw 51-68 pitches for strikes. LC ripped 13 extra base hits, with Jolie Adams leading the way (4 hits, 2 2B, and a HR). In game 1, Munster was victorious over East Chicago Central 10-0 and they'll advance to play Hammond Central. In game 2, Hammond Morton defeated Gary West Side and they'll advance to play the Indians at 7 PM Thursday.
