Lake Central High School

The boys' wrestling team won their first regional championship on Saturday since the 2001-2002 season. Coach Luke Triveline was named the Hobart Regional Coach of the Year. Lake Central qualified 11 of 14 wrestlers for semi-state. Mason Jones (106), Mario Orueta (113), Gullermo Rivera (132), and Emilio Tirado (165) were individual champions. Chase Kasprzak (150) earned a runner-up finish. Other placers for the Indians included: Ryan Bos (4th), Aidan Gutierrez (4th), CJ Briner (3rd), Tino Garcia (4th), Matthew Degrado (3rd) and Stefan Jokic (3rd). The boys will wrestle in the East Chicago Semi state Saturday.
