Varsity baseball made the short trip to Kouts Thursday night to face off with 1a #1 ranked Kouts. Kouts played for a state championship last year in 1a. The Mustangs flexed their muscle early hitting a 2 run home run in the 1st inning and adding another in the 2nd inning to take a quick 3-0 lead. Jake Fitzpatrick would then strand the bases loaded in that 2nd inning and that was all the scoring done by the Mustangs. The Kougars had limited opportunities throughout the game, but would leave the tying run on 2nd base in the 7th inning, en route to a 3-2 loss.
