Hobart Little 5 team scores: 1. Kankakee Valley (KV)-180.66; 2. SB St. Joseph-141; 3. Hobart-132; 4. Griffith-50.33; 5. Hammond Bishop Noll-45; 6. EC Central-32; 7. SB Washington-13; 8. Boone Grove-11. This is their 49th regular season big meet/invite title since 2005, this 2026 version the result of outstanding team depth. KV placers: Pole Vault: 1. Haylee Hass-11-3 (SCHOOL RECORD), an epic vault for Hass, shattering her old mark of 10-9, also earning her nation wide mention on MileSplit (MS); 4. Jas Robledo-8-0. 800: 1. Krista Sytsma-2:20.27, a dominant win for Sytsma, taking control of the race with an opening 400 of 66.0. 3200: 1. Sytsma-11:18.14, this excellent performance also earned MS national mention; 5. Haylie Bristol-13:09.47, a gigantic personal record (PR) for Bristol, by roughly 15 seconds, after she had already run an excellent 1600. Discus: 2. Olivia Adams-101-4, Adams continues her stellar season with a huge season-best (SB) throw. 4x800: 2. KV-Gabbi Diener-Maddi Gray-McKinley Dresbaugh-Reese Van Meter-11:11.29, very solid runs here, with Diener's 2:36.0 lead off leg leading the way. 100 hurdles: 3. Sophie Singleton-17.52, 4. Cheyenne Flatt-18.52, important places here by the freshman and senior. 100: 2. Avery Myers-13.26, Myers dominated heat 1, placing 2nd overall, a very good time on this windy, chilly day. 3. Elyce Gillette-13.38. 1600: 4. Bristol-6:01.01, a near PR here for Bristol, 6. Ainsley Summers-6:09.9, really illustrating the depth of the distance crew, Summers PR's here by a massive amount, roughly 20 seconds! 4x100 relay: 2. KV-Myers-Avery Diener-G. Diener-Singleton-52.97, important finish for this relay. 400: 2. Gillette-64.10, 3. G. Diener-65.79; two gutsy finishes here for the besties, Diener a big heat 1 win, and important team points. 300 hurdles: 3. Singleton-52.30, 4. Flatt-54.55, two fine hurdle races, Singleton dominated heat 1. 200: 2. Myers-28.27, 3. Gillette-28.60; another strong 2-3 finish for this combo, Myers had a fantastic meet, scoring 18 points, while Gillette scored 20 important points. 4x400: 3. KV- A. Diener-Flatt-Dresbaugh-G. Diener-4:33.86, more good points here, led by A. Diener's 66.3 lead off leg. Shot Put: 2. Adams-32-0, 3. Jacqueline Vander Woude-31-7.25; excellent finish here as usual for the throwers, in a strong field, and two fine performances. Long Jump: 2. Singleton-14-9.5, 4. Flatt-13-4.5; important places here on a rough day for jumping: Singleton scored 22 individual points, while Flatt added a very important 16.5. High Jump: tied for 2nd Leah Hanselman, Brooklyn Whitt-both at 4-6, big points for the high jumpers. KV's overall record: 9-0. Their next meet is Tuesday, home vs. Munster, as KV will honor ELEVEN amazing seniors! Go Kougs!
