The Lady Kougar C Team stays undefeated (5-0) as they traveled south down I65 to take on their 2nd Tippecanoe Co opponent in less than a week, the Lady Raiders of West Lafayette Harrison. The long bus ride had the Kougars a little sluggish in the first half. Fortunately, their man -to-man defense kept the Raiders in check. KV held their opponent to just 3 field goals, one in the first and two in the 2nd taking an 11-6 advantage into the locker room. Tinley Van Meter would score 8 points in the paint to outscore West Lafayette in the half. After halftime, the Lady Kougars used full court pressure on the Lady Raiders to stretch their advantage. KV put 10 on the board during the 3rd quarter to take a 21-10 lead. Up top, Maci Schoon would force the Raider guards to make long passes that her teammates would intercept or deflect making it difficult for Harrison to put a dent into the lead. KV would win the final frame 7-4 to double up their opponent. Final score 28-14. Tinley Van Meter led the Kougars with 16 points, Maci Schoon added 7, Brooklyn Whitt 3, and Riley Jones 2. Lindsey Crowley, Laney Walstra, and Aubree Bristol would make big contributions on the defensive end of the court. Next on the schedule for the C Team is a mid-week showdown with another DAC foe, the Crown Point Lady Bulldogs on Wednesday, December 17th at 5:30pm in the Kougar Den. The Lady Kougars will again be the opening act for a girl/boy doubleheader that night before the Freshmen Boys Team takes on the Bulldogs. Come out and support both these young, fun to watch teams!
