Wednesday, April 19 Wednesday's game against New Albany was a heartbreaker for Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils, as they lost the lead late in a 4-2 defeat. The game was tied at two with New Albany batting in the top of the seventh when Quinn Lemon induced Bush to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored. Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils lost despite out-hitting New Albany six to four. Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils got things moving in the first inning, when Brett Denby singled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs. New Albany knotted the game up at two in the top of the fifth inning, when an error scored one run for New Albany. Logan Bingham was on the mound for Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils. The bulldog lasted five innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out six. Lemon threw two innings out of the bullpen. Denby led Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils with two hits in three at bats.
