Big First Inning Sets Tone For Red Devils Victory

Thursday, April 13 Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils defeated Seymour 13-1 on Thursday thanks to a timely ten runs in a big first inning. The offensive onslaught came from singles by Ethan Durbin, Jaden Hart, Kyle Campbell, and Aidan Niemi, by Jaret Phillips, a fielder's choice by Brett Denby, and a double by Caiden White. Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils got things started in the first inning when White doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run. Logan Bingham toed the rubber for Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils. The hurler allowed three hits and one run over five innings, striking out three. Leary started the game for Seymour. The bulldog went one-third of an inning, allowing ten runs on four hits and striking out one. M Wright threw three and two-thirds innings in relief. Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils saw the ball well today, racking up nine hits in the game. Niemi and Durbin each managed multiple hits for Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils. Durbin and Niemi each collected two hits to lead Jeffersonville Varsity Red Devils. With the win the Red Devils move to 5-3 overall and 1-0 in the HHC.
