Wednesday, March 29 Jeffersonville split its season-opener against visiting Louisville DuPont Manual on Tuesday. The Crimsons won the first game 4-0 before the Red Devils took the second 6-0 to give new head coach Shayne Stock his first win on the bench. In the opener, a pair of Manual pitchers limited Jeff to two hits. Starter Chase Chamberlain allowed one hit while walking two and striking out six over the first six innings. Patrick Ryan allowed a hit while striking out one in the seventh to preserve the win. Aidan Niemi had one of Jeff’s hits with a double. In the second contest, Logan Bingham tossed a two-hit, complete-game shutout to lead the Red Devils. The 6-foot-6 junior right-hander only allowed a pair of singles while striking out 12. Four players — Jaden Hart, Jaret Phillips, Kyle Campbell and Ryan Crawford — finished with two hits apiece for Jeffersonville, which tallied three runs in the second and sixth innings. Hart went 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs while scoring once. Phillips was 2-for-4 with a double, triple and RBI while touching home once. Campbell was 2-for-2 with a RBI while walking twice. Crawford went 2-for-3 while driving in a run and scoring twice.
