Marble Breaks School Record

The Jeffersonville Lady Red Devils defeated Bloomington South on December 19th, 46-32. The Lady Devils came out the gate ready to play, taking a 7-0 lead early into the first quarter. Two big 3’s made by Marble and Renee’ put the devils up 12-3 ending the first quarter. The second quarter both teams played excellent defense. Although both teams scored under 10 points, the Devils outscored the Panthers 9-7. Marble hitting another 3 and having 5 of the 9 of the quarter. The Devils lead at the half 21-10. Coach Sykes was very proud of her team executing the game plan, during half time she emphasized to keep playing hard and not to let up. The third quarter Bloomington South tried to go on a run, being unsuccessful the Red Devils outscored them 13-11, another 3 made by Marble at the buzzer ending the third. To start the fourth quarter the Lady Devils were ready to finish the game. Knowing Marble was just 4, three-pointers away from beating the school record they made sure to get her the ball. The Devils outscored the Panthers 12-11. All 12 coming from Marble. Elle Marble was able to beat the school record of six 3 point baskets in a single game. Marble made 7 for the night, beating 9 former Red Devils who all tied it. The Red Devils will be back in action after the Holidays to play in the Ben Davis and Center Grove tournament.
