JHS Girls Shine at Jeff Classic Wrestling Tournament

In a thrilling display of talent and determination, girls from Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois, and Missouri grappled their way through the Jeff Classic wrestling tournament, leaving an indelible mark on the mats. Out of 24 formidable teams, the girls’ team soared to a commendable 4th place. Sian Rogers emerged as the standout star, claiming the championship title while also bagging the prestigious awards for Most Outstanding Wrestler and Most Falls in the Least Amount of Time. Rogers’ dedication during the off-season manifested brilliantly in her stellar performance, securing her place in wrestling history. The success didn’t stop there. Aubrey Cumming’s and Lynn Padgett’s impressive efforts led them to a well-deserved 2nd place after reaching the finals. Avah Steffey and Abi Lemon fought hard, securing a respectable 4th place, while Joe Eimes, Kaylea Beauchamp, and Venus Plamp clinched the 5th position. Notably, Ryan Tevis and Envy Diaz proudly claimed 6th place, marking significant milestones in their wrestling careers. Adding to the team’s triumph, Abril Andres, Scarlett McRae, and Kaylen Cooke claimed the 7th and 8th positions respectively, showcasing the depth of talent within the Jeff wrestling squad. Beyond their athletic prowess, the team’s intellectual prowess shone brightly. In a testament to their dedication both on and off the mat, Jeff Wrestling showcased their academic acumen by producing an outstanding 6 out of the 14 academic champions, a testament to their commitment to excellence in all facets of their lives.
