Last night, the girls' varsity team took on a challenging lineup at Jennings County High School for an exhilarating weeknight tournament. Among tough competitors like Franklin Central, Jeffersonville, Borden, Silver Creek, Scottsburg, Madison, and Jennings County, standout performances lit up the event. Avah Steffey emerged as a star, clinching her first two wins of the season with sheer dominance – a win by pin and another by a tech fall. Envy Diaz and Venus Plamp also showcased their prowess with victories by fall, securing a commendable 2-0 record. Abi Lemon held her ground with a single win, making her 1-0 for the night, while Abril Andres achieved a respectable 1-1 record. Notably, Kaylen Cooke demonstrated significant improvement in her match, executing impressive moves like the hi-crotch, arm drag, and duck under. A special mention goes to Scarlett Mcrae, who made a striking debut, hinting at a promising future in the sport. The girls' next challenge awaits them this Saturday at the 32-team Jeff Classic. This event marks the second appearance for the girls' team in the classic, alongside the 46th edition for the boys. With their recent achievements and continued dedication, they're poised to make their mark once again
