The Jeffersonville Lady Red Devils took on the Charlestown Pirates on December 12th. Both JV and Varsity ended with a win! The Devils started out strong in the first quarter, going on a 5-0 run after Charlestown scored the first points of the game. Sophomore Renee’ lead the Devils at the end of the 1st with 7 points. The Lady Devils closed out the quarter leading 12-6. A slower start to the second quarter the Lady Devils had a hard time scoring, missing 10 shots in the second quarter allowed the Pirate to close the gap. The Pirates outscored the Devils 11-9, bringing the halftime score the Devils up 21-17. Coming out of halftime the Devils knew they had to pick up the intensity, Junior Makenzie Mason had a huge role off the bench scoring 7 points. The Devils forced 8 turnovers in the third quarter. The Lady Devils lead 42-27 after the third. The fourth quarter the Lady Devils continued to lead, out scoring the Pirates 13-12. Ending the game 55-39. The Lady Devils were lead by Keziah Renee’ with 17 points followed by Kenzie Mason with 14 points. Both JV and Varsity took home the win on Coach Sykes Birthday! JV won 40-10, and Varsity won 55-39. The Devils will be back in action Saturday December 16th as they travel to North Knox High School. JV tipoff is at 2 Varsity to follow.
