The girls' team set a high standard at the Derby City Classic hosted at Louisville Central High School. Aubrey Cummings and Kaylea Beauchamp, continuing their undefeated streak this season, claimed championship titles, setting an impressive tone for the team. Nelly Bayyoud secured second place, while Jo Eimes and Sian Rogers took third place, with Abi Lemon and Envy Diaz earning fourth place, contributing to the team's commendable 4th place finish among 16 competitive teams. Notably, Sian Rogers faced her first loss of the season, marking a significant moment in an otherwise undefeated run. On the other front, the Varsity B boys' team brought home a resounding 3rd place trophy, a remarkable achievement considering the tough 16-team tournament. Gavin Grishman secured the championship in the heavyweight division, supported by Adrian Carillo (150) and Stephen Snow (138), both earning silver medals. Meanwhile, the varsity boys' team embarked on an arduous overnight trip to the Evansville Duals, where they faced off against formidable opponents including the top-ranked teams such as Avon Orioles, Mater Dei Wildkats, Civic Memorial from Illinois, Castle High School, and Bloomington South Panthers. Although they competed fiercely, securing a hard-fought win against Castle High School, the Red Devils finished with a 1-4 record. Notably, Ben Land and Cody Shewmaker emerged as standouts with flawless 5-0 records, propelling Ben into the top 10 rankings in the state.
