Lady Devils defeat Olympians

The Lady Devils traveled to Columbus East on December 9th. Where they defeated the Olympians 63-47. Despite the Olympians starting the first quarter with a small run. The Lady Devils were able to outscore the Olympians 22-19, with Senior Elle Marble getting 2 important steals on back to back possessions. To start the second quarter both teams came out defensively strong. Despite the Lady Devils only scoring 9 points they held the Olympians to only 5 points in the second quarter. Going into half the Lady Devils lead 31-24. Coming out of halftime the Olympians had some very big 3 point shots. Although the Olympians out scored the devils 20-15 in the 3rd quarter. The Lady Devils still lead 46-44 going into the fourth quarter. The Lady Devils knew they had to both be smart offensively and defensively to finish the game. They were able to outscore the Olympians 17-3 to end the game. It took a lot of team work to win on the road. The Lady Devils had 15 assist from several key players. Keziah Renee’ ended with the game high of 20 points, followed by Elle Marble with 18, and Lakyra Johnson finished with 14. Senior Elle Marble finished with a double-double 18 points/10 rebounds. Along with 7 steals and 4 assist. Other scorers Kiya Boatwright (7 points) LaQaya Gold (2 points) Skylar Thompson (2 points) The Lady Devils will be back at home on December 12th to face the Charlestown Pirates. JV tipoff at 6 Varsity to follow.
