On November 25th, the Jeffersonville Lady Red Devils traveled to Cathedral High School where they fell short after a last second shot to end the game, with the score of 52-49. After a slow start and several turn overs the Fighting Irish took a 6-0 lead, before Senior LaKyra Johnson put up the first points for the Red Devils. Despite struggling to find their grove to start the first quarter the Lady Devils were able to go on a run ending the first quarter leading 17-12. The Fighting Irish had an answer with a quick basket to start the second quarter. While the turnovers continued for the Lady Devils they were able to hold the lead despite getting out scored 13-11 in the second quarter. Entering halftime with a lead 28-25. Another slow start entering the third quarter, the Irish went on a 4-0 run. After almost two minutes until the third quarter before the Lady Devils had an answer. The Irish out scored the Devils 13-6,with 4 of the 6 points coming from the free throw line. Ending the third quarter the Irish lead 38-34. The fourth quarter both teams came out ready to play, after exchanging baskets back and forth, Senior Elle Marble hit two huge 3’s, where the Devils took the lead 42-40 with 4:46 to play. Cathedral answered with a quick basket tying the game 42-42. The rest of the fourth quarter both teams exchanged baskets, with 3 seconds remaining Sophmore Keziah Renee’ scored a layup tying the game 49-49. Fighting Irish Wilson hit a half court buzzer beater ending the game 52-49. Johnson lead Lady Devils with 18 point, followed by Marble who scored 16 points.
