The Hopkins County Central Storm baseball team was able to extend their win streak to four games on Monday evening with a 10-4 road win against the Webster County Trojans, and they did so with their offense. Hopkins Central found themselves down 2-1 after two, but it was after the first couple of innings where the team’s offense really found their footing. They put up two runs in the top of the third to take the lead right back, and another in the fifth to make it 4-2. Webster County came right back and tied it up with a pair of their own runs in the home half of the fifth, but the sixth is where the Storm opened it up. The team was able to get a few singles and draw a couple of walks with the bases loaded to get five runs in the top of the sixth, and that allowed them to close the game out with their pitching and get the 10-4 win. Peyton James got the start on the mound for the Storm and was able to go the distance and pitch all seven innings. He allowed those four runs to the Trojans, but he was also able to rack up an impressive eight strikeouts. The Storm’s offense tallied 10 hits over the course of the game, and four of them came from Gaige Brasher and Neilan Bruce, who both had two.
