The Highland Middle School 7th grade boys basketball team kicked off their season in style with an impressive 72-25 victory over Marion McCulloch on Tuesday. The Highlanders displayed their offensive firepower and stifling defense in a game that quickly got out of reach for the visiting team. Leading the charge for Highland was Aiden Redd, who put on a scoring clinic, finishing with 23 points. Redd’s ability to create offense from all areas of the court had Marion McCulloch’s defense on its heels all night long. He showcased his impressive driving abilities and finished at the rim with ease. Not far behind Redd was Tramar Sandifer, who added 20 points to the Scots tally. Sandifer’s speed and ball-handling were key in pushing the tempo, helping his team maintain a fast-paced offense that overwhelmed Marion McCulloch. Whether it was a quick drive to the basket or an outside jumper, Sandifer was a constant threat. Jamareon Wells also had a stellar performance, contributing 16 points. Wells’ ability to read the game and make smart plays on both ends of the floor gave Highland another reliable scorer, helping to keep the pressure on Marion McCulloch throughout the game. The Scots defense was just as impressive as their offense, limiting Marion McCulloch to just 25 points. The team’s aggressive press forced turnovers, which were quickly converted into fast-break points, further expanding their lead. With the win, the Highland Middle School boys 7th grade team has set a strong tone for the rest of the season. Head coach and players alike will look to build on this dominant performance as they prepare for their next game.
