The Highland Varsity Trojans put on a complete performance Wednesday night, defeating Hammond Central 11-0 in dominant fashion. Jordan Steele led the offensive explosion, driving in four runs on three hits, including three doubles across the first three innings to set the tone early. A single by freshmen Joselyne Alvarez, and a double by Jordan Steele helped Highland Varsity Trojans extend their early lead in the third. In the circle, Samantha Zurlis was lights out, striking out 12 batters while allowing just three hits and zero runs over five innings. The Trojans wasted no time getting on the board in the first inning and continued to pile it on, finishing with 11 total hits and five walks. Highland Varsity Trojans piled up 11 hits in the game. Hailey Thomas collected two hits for Highland Varsity Trojans in three at bats. Next up for Highland Varsity Trojans is today at Lowell.
